Shared scale: 40–160. White marker = 100. Gold = first hitter; blue = second hitter. Values outside the scale stop at the edge.

Choose metrics, filter the pool, and hover or select a hitter. Color shows blasts per swing.
Dashed lines = 100 for standardized scores. Purple = lower blast rate; gold = higher blast rate. Zoom centers on the selected hitter.
Find similar swings
Closest profiles across Power+, Contact Quality+, and Contact+, with equal weight.
Distance is measured in baseline standard deviations; lower is closer. Similarity describes swing metrics, not position, overall talent, or future results.
Swing+ and hitting results
Compare swing profiles with 2026 production. This is a same-season relationship, not a prediction test.
xwOBA estimates offensive performance from contact quality plus actual strikeouts, walks, and hit-by-pitches. wRC+ measures offensive production adjusted for league and park, with 100 = average. Missing matches are excluded, not treated as zero. Neither metric changes Swing+.

What the evidence says
How Swing+ works
Each input is standardized using the mean and population standard deviation of the original 203 hitters, with at least 650 competitive swings. Power+ uses average bat speed. Contact Quality+ uses blasts per competitive swing. Contact+ uses 1 − whiffs per competitive swing.
The overall composite is 30% bat-speed z-score + 40% blast-rate z-score + 30% contact-rate z-score. That composite is standardized again and scaled as 100 + 15 × z-score. Higher is better; 115 is one standard deviation above the original baseline’s mean, not 15% better. Each component uses the same 100 / 15 scale.
Weights are judgment-based and have not been validated for predicting future hitting performance. Bat speed and blast rate overlap, and blast rate also reflects contact ability. Swing length and squared-up rate are shown as context rather than receiving additional weight. The original 203-hitter baseline stays fixed when adding players. The expanded pool does not necessarily average 100. Ranks are recalculated across all 572 hitters.

Hitters below 650 swings are labeled as smaller samples; their scores are less established. This site is a fixed snapshot with no automatic refresh.
